Shared Video Views

What are Shared Video Views?
A measurement of the total number of times a video or reel was played via user interactions like shares.

Where should I find Shared Video Views?
To find Shared Video Views on Facebook, go to the Professional Dashboard in the left menu under your profile home. Access Meta Business Suite, then click Insights and navigate to Content.

From there, open the Posts and Stories dropdown, select Videos, choose a video, and adjust the metric to Shared Video Views to track how many times it was played due to shares.

Why are Shared Video Views Important?
It measures plays based off of user generated movement like shares, indicating how much exposure a post received organically through the promotion of the audience’s engagement with the video. Because of this, it’s a good evaluation of how well a video or campaign resonates with an audience.

How to improve your Shared Video Views metric?
Call on your followers to share and engage with the posted video! Ensure that you’re providing relevant and attractive substance that your audience values, and post consistently and when your audience is most active to encourage more engagement.

How frequently should I track this?
Follow your Shared Video Views throughout the duration of each campaign, while logging every 7 days and reporting for analysis at least once a month.
