New Stories
What are New Stories?
Instagram Stories work differently from Videos or Photos. Like Carousels, Stories are a compilation of multiple types of content, including photos, videos, reels, etc. Stories are only active for 24 hours. You can save an Instagram Story as a Highlight if you want to keep it active for a longer duration.
Where should I find New Stories?
New Stories metrics are found in Instagram’s Insights tool. From your profile home page, select the menu (the three lines) in the top right and click Insights. Scroll down the Insights Overview page and select Stories. Adjust the date range to “Past 7 Days” or “Past 30 Days” to view metrics for your newest Instagram Stories.
Why are New Stories Important?
Tracking your most recent Stories metrics will consistently give you the most detail into what is working well with your audience. Are they more receptive and active when you post Stories more frequently? What days yield higher metric data? Which types of content? This allows you to use better judgement in the future as to what you should keep, add, and alter.
How to improve your New Stories metric?
The first key to improving Instagram Stories is to be consistent with how often you’re posting Stories! The more you post, the more information you can derive from your Instagram analytics to reveal what’s working well. Content calendars are a great way to stay organized and set plans for future posts so you don’t find yourself having to scramble to create content just to stay consistent.
How frequently should I track this?
If you want to stay current, (you do), it’s important to track New Stories weekly and monthly. To maximize post engagement, you need to know what’s working best. Analyzing metrics based on the past week or month allows you to dive into specifics of how each Story post is faring.
